J. Michaels

J. Michaels
CD title : Ole Rock and Roller (With a Country Heart)
Genre: Country

INTRODUCTION

J. Michaels is a North Hollywood Ca. based country rock artist fusing the country that lives in rock and the rock that inevitably lives in country. In addition to the single, the accompanying music video for "Ole Rock and Roller (With a Country Heart)" is available now for review at www.jmichaelscountryrock.com

THE SINGLE

This single lives up to its title indeed! The tracks to "Ole Rock And Roller" were cut at Omni Studio A in Nashville, where some of the biggest albums in country history were made. The vocal was performed in a new apartment in North Hollywood, built on top of the land where Warner Bros Studios created some of the most legendary rock records ever.
BIO

At first glance it might be challenging to define who J. Michaels is and what he does best, but no one would doubt that he’s an entertainer at heart and a natural one at that. When he\\'s in front of an audience, whether big or small, it\\'s evident that he wants to make sure that everyone is at ease and having a good time. Growing up in the Ohio River town of Huntington, West Virginia, Michaels credits his father for this ability. "Dad put down his saxophone in high school band to become drum major so he could get out front to stir up the crowd, so I get it honestly."

However, Michaels didn’t abandon his instruments so quickly. In fact, he has had a circuitous journey to center stage. As a veteran sideman, he\\'s played behind a long list of legends that includes Trisha Yearwood, Alan Jackson, Garth Brooks, George Jones, Don Henley and Steven Curtis Chapman. We\\'ve also seen him as a featured actor in Vince Gill\\'s fun "Feels Like Love" music video and in a Nissan commercial starring the late great Johnny Cash. Citing the Doobie Brothers as his biggest musical influence before heading to Nashville to study music business at Belmont College, their diversity of rock n\\' roll, country and blues served him well for what was to come with the country-rock explosion of the nineties.

Now residing with his wife of eight years in North Hollywood, California, where most of the great classic rock records that he grew up on were made, J. Michaels is excited to launch his new single and video, "Ole Rock N\\' Roller (With A Country Heart)." "It\\'s really awesome because we found out by accident that our newly constructed apartment was built on top of the studio property where they recorded all of the hits on ‘Best Of The Doobies’, as well as many other huge rock classics. In fact, they wrote the lyrics to ‘Long Train Runnin’ in the bathroom down there. I made sure I recorded my vocal in our living room, so the mojo might waft its way up from this burial ground into my personal fusion of rock n\\' roll and country."

With all this excitement stirring, J. Michaels is sure that there are tons of people all over the globe who grew up just like he did, fully immersed in classic rock, but then finding themselves committed to country as the years went by. Just as this song boldly states, "Perhaps A Little Bit Of George Jones Or Maybe Some ZZ Top!", J. wants to dance back and forth on the bridge that connects these two arenas, entertaining a crowd that is intent on laughing, rocking, reminiscing and having a great time.
