Moon Howls by Miles Wide
Miles Wide takes Heart in Hand for solo acoustic tour
Miles Wide, a singer-songwriter based in Rochester, NY, will play a series of acoustic shows in Manhattan between April 10 and 23. These intimate, free performances will be the first leg of a national, “Heart in Hand Tour,” which will stretch from coast to coast, beginning in New York and traveling as far as San Diego by mid-summer. Performances will feature songs from Lone on the Mountain, a stripped and unplugged EP released in late 2014.
A rising indie solo act, Miles Wide has played for audiences in Boulder, Colorado, Cambridge, Massachusetts and Paris, France – all in the past year. Frontman Kyle Donovan quit a desk job in Boulder in early 2014 and started a relentless pursuit of his homegrown music career. Since then, he has appeared live in-studio on WBER 90.5 FM and WRUR 88.5 FM's "Open Tunings.” As an independent, “do-it-yourself” artist, he books and promotes all of his own shows, designs his logos and website, records and engineers his own albums, and manages all the other odd jobs that working musicians face. The solo performer is also a self-taught musician, having just taken his very first voice lesson in January. Rochester’s CITY Newspaper reviewed his latest release, “Lone on the Mountain” in February, calling it “as much a platform for Donovan's vocal skills as it is a showcase for his mellow, atmospheric numbers.” With over fifty performances under his belt in just under a year, he has already wowed audiences at dozens of popular Upstate destinations like Dinosaur BBQ, Victoire Belgian Beer Bar, and The Little Theatre.
Upcoming shows in the Big Apple include an unplugged performance at Columbia University’s Postcrypt Coffeehouse on April 10. This cozy venue has hosted noteworthy artists like Jeff Buckley, Ani DiFranco, and Suzanne Vega in years past; situated in the basement of Saint Paul’s Chapel, it holds just thirty-five listeners. On the 13th, the singer-songwriter will be upstairs at Pianos, a two-story venue well-known for its local and touring alternative acts. Over a week later, he will return to the Lower East Side for a show at Rockwood Music Hall on the 22nd, an “epicenter of live music in New York,” which has hosted recognizable artists like Norah Jones, Mumford & Sons and Lady Gaga. The very next day, Donovan will perform on the Upper West Side at Bar Thalia, a wine bar and low-key lounge attached to Symphony Space. In the months to follow, he will hit seven more major music havens, including Philadelphia, Nashville, Denver, and San Diego, promoting his newest releases and his original repertoire.

"I find myself inspired by the beauty in the natural world around us, coupled with the complex emotions found in human hearts and minds. In a way, I see them as inexorably connected" the songwriter explains.
Kyle's project, Miles Wide, began with a simple idea: to begin each day by writing music, singing melodies, and living each moment - mindful of the raw emotion and beauty all around us.
The new full length release Moon Howls started as a series of acoustic songs written in a living room overlooking the Rocky Mountains. With a bare-bones foundation already set, Kyle recruited some friends: Tom Clarke-Hazlett (bass), Sam Sherman (percussion), and Isaac Zuckerman (percussion). These players crafted a rhythm section of bass guitar and layered percussion for Moon Howls that enhanced and emboldened its sound, giving it life and texture.
Moon Howls was recorded, produced, and released in late spring of 2014.
The first single and title track is of the same name, "Moon Howls." The song is an uplifting and inspirational track complete with lush vocal harmonies, beautiful guitar sections, and subtly layered
percussion that brings a full feel to the piece.
"Moon Howls was written on a beach in southern California last June, on a cloudy, windy day. At the
time of writing the song, I felt a deep connection with the movement of the tides, the activities of everyone around me, and the emotions in my heart. Blue skies opened and closed above me, and I realized that most everything in this world is interconnected. In a way, that’s really what the song is about. " says Kyle of the song.
Miles Wide has been featured by CITY Newspaper, The Equal Ground, WBER 90.5 FM, WBZA 98.7 FM, and WRUR 88.5 FM’s "Open Tunings." The songwriter has performed at dozens of venues, both near and far from the hills of his hometown, Rochester, NY. In April, he will embark on a nationwide tour, moving from coast to coast – Starting with NYC and Washington DC, moving through Nashville and Austin, around to San Diego and Los Angeles, and finally up through Denver and Boulder, CO - where the magic all began.

Badass Country Girl Teams Up with Legendary Producer to Create Chart

Canadian singer-songwriter MANDY BO, who recently launched a
successful Kickstarter Campaign that landed her interviews and performances on

sneak peek snippet of her new lyrics music video on Instagram and announced

The groundbreaking Country West “n” Bass artist MANDY BO is a woman of
endless talent and passion. Born into a life of hard-luck and poverty in the
projects of Windsor, Ont., Bo had a rough start. With the determination and
passion to turn her dreams into a reality, she made the courageous step of
re-locating to Toronto, a hub for all musicians, at the age of 17. Here, Bo
finally found comfort in the art of music. Writing, producing, and creating
original songs, Bo has proved to be a country girl at heart who can seamlessly
